John Lennon- Working Class Hero (Lyrics)

  1. The words to this song are very true to our reading this week and a lot of the material from over the semester. I just didn't make the connection until I read Flinn saying "Working Class"

  2. Wow. That definitely connects with this week.
He's right, you've got to be in the middle for working class people.

  3. This song speaks a lot about breaking the spirits and free will of people, keeping them scared. This is how the government/ society controls everyone, why such injustices that we have read in class can happen and keep happening. People are worn out, and keep trying and working towards getting to be like "those folks on the hill." Its a viscous, messed up cycle; like the Spartan way of life without all the muscle.

  4. I definitely agree with the above comments and Heather's example referring to the Spartan way of life is great! So true! And people don't realize the severity of issues like this until it is broken down in such ways they can relate to the source, song lyrics for example and these particular ones are greatly related to this weeks reading, along with much of the material throughout this semester!
